Fabriholic Fail

I stopped by the fabric store and bought batting, backing and binding for 2 quilts. Now this is allowed under the rules, loosely, but it could have waited. I could not! The tops are not even complete! What was I thinking?

  1. Giggling at you fulfilling your need to have new fabric to pet by buying backings and binding for quilts that aren't finished!! I am on no-buy for anything quilt related, and so far so good! I still have 40 quilts waiting for me to quilt them...good thing I have lots of batting and miles of fabric to make backings for them!! Just need time to quilt my quilts!

  2. yes but when you do complete the tops you'll be all ready to finish them up. i hate waiting for stuff to arrive when i just want to be done with a project. i say you made an intelligent decision.

  3. Okay, you bought fabric but it wasn't extra fabric (unless you aren't a finisher) and sometimes buying something we need fulfills that need to buy so it's a win-win. I am going to buy white tomorrow. This will allow me to use stash and make a chevron quilt for a wedding present later this year. Win-win (I hope).

  4. I recently went and bought a bunch of batting too and felt like I was cheating on the fast, even though it's something I need and didn't have! Any money spent on crafts makes me feel like I'm breaking the rules, even when I'm not :D

Anyway, at least you're prepared for when the tops are finished!

  5. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's a good way to prevent going cold turkey. The purchases *are* allowed..
