It has been one of those days, weekend really. I have had a burning desire to clean my quilt stash, the one in containers behind the couch in the lounge. That alone is very odd, I hate to straighten, love to make a mess, must be a new year's thing. You know all the posts on minimalism, keeping what you love, making way for the new. Or one of those Twilight Zone moments that come out of nowhere. Insert theme song. Nothing so grand for me, just needed to find a quilt back or two for the newly completed baby quilts. Moved my stash and the bottom of the containers was wet. EEK my stash! Martin of course was more concerned with his wall and carpet. Men and their priorities.
Two baby quilts completed. My favourite patchwork and a back.
And my current favourite "Merry Go Round" by Keepsake Quilting and its back.
EEK a coffee stain. Hope it washes out? At least its not red wine!
Before moving my stash I decided I did not like my log cabin as is. So chopped it up. I have a couple of variations that I quite like. What do you think?
Thought I would like it on point but I think this is my favourite.
And I am joining a Quilt Along. Saw it on Julie's blog Pink Doxies. If you have note seen her blog you should really pop in. She does wonderful work. It is the 150 Canadian Women Quilt Along. Here is my pull so far.
I am also going to participate in Canada's Big Quilt Bee. We will be making 1000 charity quilts for Ronald MacDonald house. Just need to purchase some Canadian fabric. This will be my charity quilt this year.
Except for the leak a very productive weekend.
I feel your pain. I had to completely empty my sewing room last year because of a burst pipe. Luckily nothing was ruined apart from the carpet and my peace
ReplyDeleteI have been collecting the 150 Canadian women patterns but have not yet started.
ReplyDeleteA Tide pen might help the coffee stain. I like the quilt top.
