WIP'S Wednesday

Working on this fun quilt. Sort of slowed down on the quilting as I am unsure of what to bind it in.
Love the Lotus Leaf I usually use but...
maybe stay the same with the dark purple...
however could go scrappy...
not having a ah hah moment where it seems to click. Wait, that picture looked pretty good!

Amy at 13 Spools http://www.13spools.com/ had a great post on adult play. What it is and what it is not. Lots to think on. Lots of concepts to embrace and put into practice. I think I will measure my fun today on a scale of 1 - 5. Taking the bus and reading my book 4, walking home from work and not reading my book 4....is there a 5 in my day? I will keep myself open for the opportunity.

  1. Have you tried the lighter blue-violet, the one between the purple and the pink? It's what I'd suggest.

  2. I'm liking that last red (small-ish print) myself. Definitely would encourage contrast along that dark inner border...and the red unifies with the squares. :-)

  3. Hrm. You're right, not a whole lot is jumping out at me. Maybe the lighter solid from the patchwork? If not, the same color as the background would make it all sort of blend in. Depends on what you want I guess? Good luck!

  4. That last red print looks great, if you want a different colour. I myself prefer a matching binding, so I like the dark blue background one the best. Depends what you want. I love this quilt, so energetic with all that colour movement.

  5. fabulous quilt! I'm leaning towards the same as the background, but then I wouldn't want to distract from the fun colours and pattern of the design. Whatever you end up choosing will be great!

  6. I have admired this quilt design for ages but despite gathering 2.5" scrap squares for a very long time I still have not made it! How is it that other projects always pop up and push this to the bottom of the list? Well, seeing your dramatic version has lit the flame again! Have a couple of quilts in the pipeline to complete first and of course, there are always those UFOs asking to be finished. Love the black centres on your quilt.

  11. Hi again Pam. I'm sorry to comment again, but google+ puts you as a no reply blogger when you comment on my blog, so I can't reply from there. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

  13. Personally, I would sew a bunch of brights together (the same ones as in the quilt) and bind it with those. The binding doesn't show much so it depends on what you want to frame the quilt with. Nix the first one and go with either the purple or the last one (since they are both in the body of the quilt.)
